Fans of the Boston Celtics got a little bit of an update on what might be coming down the pike for the franchise in terms of trades ahead of the annual moratorium on swapping players between ball clubs, set to arrive at 3 pm on Feb. 10 this season.
The Athletic’s Jared Weiss reports that over the weekend, “Boston offered (veteran guard Dennis) Schroder to Milwaukee for Donte DiVincenzo, which the Bucks countered asking for Grant Williams”. If it surprises you that Boston would even consider moving Williams — the team’s best shooter at present — it seems the team did as well, though Weiss’ sources said “the teams continue to explore frameworks that include Williams.’
Is there a mix of assets and players including Grant on the Celtics’ side? It seems unlikely, though parties further apart on deals have managed to find a middle ground in the past.
The esteemed sports journalist emeritus has heard the Celtics might go small at the trade deadline, but doesn’t think Boston should trade Williams. https://t.co/dl5Q7C5yNA
