The Jameis Winston era appears over as the Cleveland Browns are benching him for Dorian Thompson-Robinson against the Cincinnati Bengals.
According to The OBR’s Brad Stainbrook, the Browns are moving on from Winston after his three-interception performance against the Kansas City Chiefs. That total brings Winston’s interceptions up to nine in the last four games, and that was enough for the Browns to make the move.
In sparing situations, Thompson-Robinson has had some flashes but has been mostly inconsistent. Thompson-Robinson now likely gets a three-game audition to prove to the Browns if he can be a bridge quarterback for 2025 or if he is nothing more than a backup quarterback at the NFL level.
