Report: Browns have no interest in re-signing RB Kareem Hunt

It was not too long ago that running back Kareem Hunt demanded a trade from the Cleveland Browns to find an expanded workload. Now, NFL free agency has not been kind to Hunt as he has yet to find a new home on the open market. As the 2023 NFL Draft nears, and as the Browns look to plug more gaps on their roster, running back may be one of those needs as the team has no interest in bringing Hunt back.

According to Cleveland dot com’s Terry Pluto, the Browns have concerns about his speed decreasing and plan to give that role to second-year back Jerome Ford:

“I kept hearing from the Browns that Hunt was ‘slipping’ in terms of his speed… The Browns want to break in Jerome Ford in the Hunt role. They believe Ford brings extra value because they like him as a kickoff return man.”

The Browns could land a third running back in the draft as a divorce between the team and Hunt is all but final.
