Report: Andrew Luck Tampering Allegation by Colts Has Been Resolved

Earlier this month, the Colts asked the NFL to investigate the Commanders for tampering after an ESPN report noted that Washington had reached out to retired quarterback Andrew Luck, whose contractual rights still belong to Indianapolis.

The allegation has been resolved, ESPN reported Monday, and the Colts seem satisfied with the outcome, league sources told ESPN’s Stephen Holder.

The investigation determined the Commanders never directly spoke to Luck or anyone close to him, according to ESPN’s sources. After the initial report came out, Colts owner Jim Irsay issued a stern warning against any NFL teams who might be interested in speaking with Luck.

“If any NFL Team, attempted to contact Andrew Luck (or any associate of him)… to play for their Franchise - it would be a clear Violation of the League’s Tampering Policy,” Irsay wrote.

Luck, 33, has not expressed any desire to return to the NFL. He last played during the 2018 season.
