San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was shot during an attempted robbery in San Francisco according to a report from NBC’s Gia Vang.
Vang reported Pearsall is in stable condition. The suspect is in police custody.
Per FOX 40’s Sean Cunningham, San Francisco Police Department said Pearsall was shot in the chest during a robbery attempt involving his Rolex watch. There was a struggle for the gun during the robbery. The suspect was also shot and is in stable condition.
The San Francisco Chronicle confirmed Pearsall was shot in the chest, while the suspect was “shot in the hand or arm.”
Pearsall was the 49ers’ first-round pick in this year’s draft. He dealt with hamstring and shoulder injuries during training camp, but returned to practice after the preseason and was on track to make his debut in San Francisco’s season opener on Sept. 9 against the Green Bay Packers.
