Report: 2 teams tried to trade with Vikings for 23

The Minnesota Vikings used their first pick in the NFL Draft to select USC wide receiver Jordan Addison. After a lot of speculation that the Vikings would trade down, they stayed at pick 23 and took the talented receiver.

According to Darren Wolfson of SKOR North, the Vikings had interest from the New Orleans Saints and Kansas City Chiefs. The belief was that one of those teams would have selected Addison.

The Vikings ultimately decided to keep their pick and take Addison. Showing that they valued him more than the trade offers they were receiving.

Addison’s selection now pairs him with All-Pro receiver Justin Jefferson, creating the potential for a dynamic offensive threat for the Vikings. Addison’s versatility as a savvy route runner who can gain separation and lineup anywhere on the field, adds a new dimension to the team’s game plan. Head coach Kevin O’Connell will have endless opportunities to create success with his playcalling.
