Republican Rep. Mike Turner recently expressed his views on the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, emphasizing the importance of continued US support for Ukraine while also urging Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to engage in meaningful peace negotiations.

During an interview, Turner stated that although he believed Zelensky could have responded differently to US President Donald Trump, it was crucial for the United States to maintain its support for Ukraine. He emphasized the need for Ukraine to actively participate in peace talks to bring an end to the war.

Turner condemned Russia as the aggressor in the conflict, referring to them as the 'evil empire' responsible for the deaths of numerous Ukrainians. He highlighted the united stance taken by the US and European nations against Russian aggression.

These remarks by Turner directly contradict recent statements made by President Trump, who falsely claimed that Ukraine initiated the conflict. Turner's stance underscores the importance of holding Russia accountable for its actions and supporting Ukraine in its efforts to achieve peace.

In response to the tensions between Zelensky and Trump following their meeting at the Oval Office, Moscow suggested a closer alignment between the US and Russia. However, Turner's comments reaffirm the commitment of the US to stand against Russian aggression and support Ukraine in its quest for peace.
