A motion to vacate has been filed against Speaker Mike Johnson, two lawmakers confirmed, approximately four months into his tenure after the previous House leader was removed from office.
During a House session, a Republican lawmaker disclosed that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., submitted the motion and indicated that she would address the matter following the conclusion of the voting series. While the House was in the process of voting on a $1.2 trillion government funding bill, witnesses observed Greene signing a document at the front of the chamber and handing it to House staff. Despite multiple attempts to reach out, her office has not provided any comments on the issue.

When asked by the press if he would back a motion to vacate, Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C., mentioned that one had already been initiated.
