Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., took to Instagram on Sunday to express her concerns regarding President-elect Donald Trump and his perceived influence on social media platforms.
She criticized TikTok for sending a notification thanking 'President Trump' for actions related to the app, despite Trump not currently holding the presidential office. AOC emphasized that Trump is a private citizen and does not possess presidential powers.
Regarding TikTok's mention of Trump in their notification, AOC suggested that it implied collaboration with the Trump administration and raised concerns about potential propaganda use.
Expressing her worries about the future political landscape, AOC warned her followers about the rise of what she described as '21st-century fascism.'
Later in the day, AOC vented her frustration on Instagram about being repeatedly asked if she would attend Trump's upcoming inauguration. She firmly stated that she would not attend, citing her refusal to celebrate individuals she referred to as 'rapists.'
Responding to criticism from an online account, AOC stood by her comments and dismissed suggestions of legal action, asserting her right to express her opinions.
Throughout her social media posts, AOC maintained a critical stance towards Trump and his administration, highlighting her concerns about potential collaborations and the political climate.
