Bemused Reo Hatate admits there is one big thing he is struggling with at Celtic - the Scottish accent.
And that led to an awkward moment with teammate James Forrest when making his Lennoxtown introductions.
The Japan international has made an instant impact since swapping the J-League for the Scottish Premiership in January.
His heroics against Rangers in his first derby made him an instant fans favourite and quickly earned him plaudits from his Celtic teammates.
However, he may not have been able to catch the praise from his Scottish teammates through their local twang.
A heartwarming exchange, shared widely among the Parkhead support, saw Hatate in deep conversation with Forrest in last month's derby against Rangers as he learned he was given the man of the match honour.
But he admits he finds some of the Scottish players tough to understand - with a question about the winger's age sparking an awkward exchange.
Hatate told the Celtic View: “It’s hard to understand what they say a lot of the time.
"I was asking James how old he was recently and he said 30, but I had no idea. I didn’t know if he was saying 13 or what, I just couldn’t understand anything!
"I’ve been trying to learn more English and I’ve been listening to my teammates but in my spare time, I’m watching a lot of English language programmes and guides online.
"So hopefully I can speak more.”
