Rennes have reportedly made Leeds United target Arnaud Kalimuendo a priority target this summer. That is according to L'Equipe, via Inside Futbol, who claim Rennes are willing to pay between €25 and €30 million for the PSG striker in order to win the race for his signature.
Despite impressing on their pre-season tour of Japan, Kalimuendo looks likely to leave PSG before the close of the window. Leeds have earmarked him as someone who could strengthen their forward line and may decide to accelerate their interest after losing out on Charles de Ketelaere to AC Milan.
But they will face strong competition for the 20-year-old with Rennes very keen on keeping him in France and Nice also thought to be interested. Kalimuendo is a very highly rated young striker; he was the top scorer of any player under the age of 20 in Europe’s top five leagues last season.

He has spent the last two years on loan at Lens and his tally of 12 in the 2021/22 campaign has seen him win suitors from across the continent. New PSG manager Christophe Galtier has already confirmed publicly he is a big fan of Kalimuendo, but with Lionel Messi, Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Mauro Icardi and now Hugo Ekitike at his disposal, game time may be limited.
He would not face such competition at Elland Road with Jesse Marsch desperate to add to his current options at the top end of the pitch. His addition would enable Marsch to play his favoured 4-2-2-2 formation, while also providing excellent competition for both Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt.
