Rennes make decision on Djed Spence and Joe Rodon while Bryan Gil has big Erik Lamela moment

Tottenham's loan players are almost at the end of their spells at clubs across Europe with some on the verge of silverware or having already won it.

Spurs' loan army's season has mirrored their parent club's form with plenty of ups and downs for the 11 players that were sent out on loan across England, Spain, Italy and France. Three of the youngest players, Troy Parrott, Dane Scarlett and Harvey White, have all returned to Tottenham following the conclusions of their loan spells at Preston, Portsmouth and Derby respectively.

football.london takes a look below at how Tottenham's remaining eight loanees are getting on.

Djed Spence and Joe Rodon (Rennes)

Djed Spence has returned to Tottenham after picking up a knee injury, but there was a rare start and 90 minutes, plus a clean sheet, for Joe Rodon on Sunday as Rennes beat Ajaccio 5-0 on the road.

It was the Welshman's first minutes in Ligue 1 since mid-February and he looked sharp despite his lack of minutes, including one long dribble from his own box into the hosts' half of the pitch before playing a sweeping through ball.

"Joe Rodon shows an exemplary mindset, although he does not play," Rennes head coach Bruno Genesio said ahead of the game. "I want to mention it because it is not easy, even less for Joe (due to his lack of minutes)."

Rennes technical director Florian Maurice confirmed in the week that the French club would not be looking to extend the loans of either of the Tottenham duo.

Bryan Gil (Sevilla)

Bryan Gil was one of the stars of Sevilla's dramatic extra-time victory at home against Juventus in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final in midweek.

Despite having 95 minutes of football in his legs Gil got down the flank in the first half of extra-time and curled in a cross for former Spurs star Erik Lamela to head home the winning goal and send Sevilla into the final. It is not the first time Gil has picked out Lamela to score, having done so in La Liga earlier in the season.

Gil had a busy night with three shots on goal, two on target, he made one dribble and played two key passes with an 86.2% pass success rate before he came off after 100 minutes. The little winger also made three tackles, one interception and one clearance.

Gil and Sevilla will now meet former Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho's Roma in the Europa League final next month.

The 22-year-old was given somewhat of a rest after his exertions with just 19 minutes from the bench on Sunday in Sevilla's 0-0 draw at home in their derby against Real Betis.

Giovani Lo Celso (Villarreal)

Giovani Lo Celso came on for 28 minutes from the bench in Villarreal's dramatic 2-1 victory at Girona on La Liga on Saturday. During that time he did manage two key passes and had a 100% success rate from his 19 passes.

Villarreal looked brighter with the Argentine on the pitch and grabbed a goal deep into added time when Gerard Moreno slotted home the winner after a swift counter attack.

Lo Celso is a wanted man with Aston Villa - where his former boss Unai Emery is in charge - and Villarreal both interested in taking him next season.

After such a frustrating first half of the term, with injury stopping him from featuring in Argentina's successful World Cup campaign, Lo Celso has been making up for lost time in what remains of the season with a string of good performances that have sparked that interest in his services.

Sergio Reguilon (Atletico Madrid)

There were more minutes for Sergio Reguilon as he came on late on in Atletico's 3-0 victory against Osasuna at home on Sunday.

The Spaniard has finally been getting minutes to his name in recent weeks, with four appearances from the bench in the past six matches.

He has only made nine appearances in total for Atletico in what has been a nightmare season for the player since leaving Tottenham on loan due to injuries and illness.

Destiny Udogie (Udinese)

Destiny Udogie was back in the starting line-up on Sunday after finding himself in the unusual position of coming off the bench in his previous two matches for Udinese.

On Sunday the 20-year-old played 70 minutes as Udinese lost 1-0 at home to Lazio in a busy performance with one shot on target, one key pass, one aerial battle won, one successful dribble, one accurate long ball, two tackles, two interceptions, one clearance and a 92.3% pass success rate from his 26 passes.

Udogie has played 33 times for Udinese this season with 2,665 minutes to his name and three goals and four assists from left wing-back.

Tanguy Ndombele (Napoli)

Tanguy Ndombele was again an unused substitute as Napoli won 3-1 against Champions League finalists Inter Milan on Sunday. The Frenchman had played in every Serie A match all the way back to August until a recent spell of three matches in a row spent sitting unused on the bench.

Ndombele has though joined the ever-lengthening list of Tottenham players who have left the club and won silverware after Napoli clinched their first Scudetto in 33 years.

The 26-year-old has made 40 appearances for the Italian champions this season and will have that title winner's medal on his CV when his loan ends this summer.

Harry Winks (Sampdoria)

Harry Winks got another two bouts of 90 minutes in his legs as Sampdoria play out their games after being relegated from Serie A this month.

The 27-year-old midfielder played the full game on Monday night as Sampdoria drew 1-1 at home to Empoli and then the entire 90 minutes again on Saturday as they lost 5-1 against AC Milan at the San Siro.

Propping up the table, the Genoa-based club, who have big financial problems, are 13 points adrift of safety with two games remaining.

After recovering from ankle surgery Winks has played 19 times since the turn of the year, starting all but the first game after his return and has rarely been substituted.
