Trains to and from Paisley’s three train stations may be cancelled at short notice as industrial action on Scotland’s railways continues.
ScotRail was forced to outline more disruption to services after the RMT union confirmed its members would not commit to working overtime.
The reduced workforce means train services could be cancelled and with little notice, the operator said.
The ban on overtime and rest day working is part of action short of a strike from the RMT and follows the 24-hour strike action on Monday, October 10.
The union measures have been implemented after the RMT failed to reach an agreement with ScotRail over pay and conditions.
ScotRail head of customer operations Phil Campbell said: “We are really disappointed with this additional industrial action, which will again impact on our customers, following the strike action earlier in the week.
“The ban on overtime does nothing for the railway’s recovery during this challenging time, and in addition to the impact on those travelling, it will further cost our staff with lost income.”
He added: “We do rely on staff working overtime in various parts of the business as we actively recruit to fill vacancies, and, unfortunately, there will be some daily cancellations throughout the period of the RMT’s ban.
“We will do everything we can to minimise the impact on customers, however, there will be some disruption.
“We advise customers to check their journey before they travel, particularly in the morning before they start their day.
“We are continuing to meet with RMT representatives to resolve this dispute.”
The RMT has rejected a series of offers since May, which have increased from an original 2.2 per cent pay increase to five per cent with other benefits and payments increased.
The union is seeking a 8.2 per cent rise.
RMT Scottish organiser Mick Hogg said on Thursday: “We are disappointed ScotRail does not have the authority to make an improved offer, despite offers above five per cent being made to refuse workers, teachers and now nurses.”
