A dad of two smashed a TV on Boxing Day after drinking too much alcohol.
Joseph Sweeney of Rannoch Drive in Renfrew admitted he smashed a TV on December 26, and caused his partner and two children fear by shouting and swearing.
Procurator fiscal depute Maria Murdoch told Paisley Sheriff Court the complainer and Sweeney had been in an on/off relationship for 20 years.
Ms Murdoch said: “Around 10am on December 26, the complainer was awoken by Sweeney stomping about.
“She asked him to stop doing so and the accused began to shout, swear and become aggressive.
“This behaviour continued and as a result, the police were contacted.
“While the complainer was contacting police, the accused punched a TV in the bedroom causing it to smash and he shouted, ‘wanna f*****g get me the jail.’
“On police arrival, the accused was in the rear of the house and he was cautioned and made no reply.
“The accused’s two children were within the house at the time and when police attended, both children were visibly upset.
“The accused was advised he was under arrest and he began to shout and swear at the officers.
“He shouted, ‘get to f**k’ and ‘f**k off.’
“At 11.05am the accused was taken to Govan police station and processed in the usual manner.”

Sweeney’s defence agent told the court how the 32-year-old regrets his behaviour.
Mr Ashaf said: “Mr Sweeney lives at Rannoch Drive with his partner and their two children.
“The couple have been in a relationship between 15 and 20 years.
“This incident took place over the festive period and he had too much to drink.
“He is extremely sorry and spent one night in custody for this.
“Both parties intend on resuming their relationship.”
On sentencing, Sheriff Bruce Erroch QC said: “To behave in such a manner towards your partner and when your children where in the house is a matter I’m sure you’re ashamed of.
“Telling police to f**k off is not acceptable.
“I take a dim view of people who behave in that matter to police.”
Sweeney was fined £195 to be paid at £10 per week.
