Nottingham Forest are reportedly trying to "renegotiate" a deal with Atletico Madrid to sign Renan Lodi this summer.
The left-back joined Forest on loan last summer and played a key role in the club's successful bid to remain in the Premier League. He played a total of 28 times in the league, including starting the last eight games.
According to Marca, via SportWitness , Forest had an option to buy Lodi for €30million (around £26m) included in the loan deal, but that option had to be triggered by March, something which didn’t happen. Forest are reportedly looking to "renegotiate" at a lower price.

ATLETICO MADRID'S DEMANDS
Marca adds that Atletico have set their base price at €30m, a price which Forest are "not willing" to pay. It means that the Spanish giants are now looking for any other buyers in an attempt to get their asking price.
The newspaper suggests that the saga could go on deep into the transfer window, meaning that Lodi will return to pre-season with Atletico when the time comes to start preparations for the new season.
WHAT STEVE COOPER HAS SAID
“We should just talk about what Renan has given us,” Cooper said after the draw at Selhurst Park. “Even today, he has played the first half with a groin strain and had to come off at half-time.
“Renan has gone through an emotional time with the birth of his son during the international break and only seeing him for a couple of days. It’s his story to tell, but I know he did let people know.
“For him to show the focus and the commitment he has, with not seeing his newborn… As a father myself, I would have found that incredibly tough. In fact, I don’t know if I could have done it.
“For him to do what he’s done, and give the club what he’s given, I’m just really proud to have worked with him. It just shows how much this club can get people to buy into it, because it’s so special.
“I’ve got a lot of admiration for Renan forever. But now is not the time to be talking about what may be next, now is the time to reflect on the game and the season.”
LODI HINTS AT HIS FUTURE
Lodi posted on Instagram after the draw with Palace, suggesting it could be farewell: "Last game with this special club, that received me with kindness and professionalism. I would like to thank every one, employees, athletes and fans, for all your support. I will always be Red! @officialnffc."
