Remote Scottish station made famous by Trainspotting needs staff for the summer

If you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Scotland's central belt - a dream job has come up for anyone looking move to one of the country's most beautiful and remote locations.

Corrour Station House, which can only be accessed via train or by taking a 20-mile hike (yes, really), is offering two lucky people a unique way to experience the Highlands this summer.

The station will be recognisable to any Trainspotting fan, as it is the location made famous by Ewan McGregor's rant about being Scottish in the film.

The tiny station is also home to one of Scotland's most remote restaurants, which welcomes a steady stream of walkers and hikers that pass through, on their way to bag one of the many Munros in the area, reports the Daily Record.

Open from the end of March until the end of October, seven days a week, the two new members of staff will join a small team and be required to live on-site for the entire season earning an 'excellent rate of pay'.

The restaurant itself is open from 8.30 am to around the time when the last train departs at 9.20 pm.

Manager Shona Griffiths, who has worked at the station since 2014, said the roles would be ideal for a pair of friends, a couple or individuals who don’t mind hard work and can handle living in the remote spot to fill the roles and help run the Station House Restaurant.

Describing it as a "completely unique experience" that's a great way to "enjoy the outdoors in Scotland", Shona said the successful applicants will be expected to help out with housekeeping at their small B&B, front of house in the restaurant, making coffees and even potentially some kitchen work if they are interested.

Those looking to apply, can send a CV and a brief covering letter to stationhouse@corrour.co.uk.
