A PRIVATE island near the top of Scotland's mainland has hit the market – and it even comes with its own eco-cabin.
Mullagrach Island, the most northerly of the Summer Isles – a group of around 20 islands south of the Coigach peninsula, has been put up for sale.
The 88-acre private island is located approximately two miles from Old Dorney Harbour, around a 30-minute boat ride, and is for sale for offers over £500,000.
The island is a haven for wildlife and plant life as the previous owner, who bought the island back in 2006, has aimed to conserve the area's nature.
The island is home to a diverse number of bird species including, amongst others, Great Skua, Kittiwakes, Shag, Fulmars, and Geese.
There is also a timber cabin, which was built in Switzerland, and has a curved and heather-clad roof to allow it to blend into the scenery.
The unique cosy structure comes fully equipped with a kitchen, a wood-burning stove, and two box beds.
There are also solar panels to provide power to the cottage and there is an outside composting toilet too.
The Summer Isles are around 20 islands that are mainly rocks and skerries within the Wester Ross Marine Protected Area.
They are popular for explorers who like to kayak or sail and there is also a local cruise boat that takes passengers around the islands during the summer months.
The largest of the islands, Tanera Mor is around 800 acres and is the only one that is permanently inhabited.
