Remo Freuler and Steve Cooper moment questioned after Nottingham Forest win

Nottingham Forest supporters picked up on a a brief exchange between manager Steve Cooper and Remo Freuler at the end of Wednesday night's game.

It was all smiles at the final whistle as the Reds picked up their first away win of the campaign, beating Southampton 1-0 on their own patch. The gap between the two sides has now stretched to five points, with Forest finally out of the bottom three while the Saints remain cut adrift at the bottom.

Cooper went onto the pitch afterwards to congratulate his players, as well as give his customary post-victory fist pumps to the travelling support. There was a fleeting moment picked up by the Sky Sports television cameras that got some viewers talking.

Cooper hugged Freuler in the middle of the pitch, but was seemingly pushed off by the midfielder. The manager shrugged it off before continuing on his way and embracing other players and it looked like Freuler may have been reacting to a stray jab from Dean Henderson as the Reds goalkeeper embraced Cooper.

That attracted comments online, with one person tweeting: "don't like it". Another asked "what was going on between Cooper and Remo??"

However, there appears to be very little in it, if anything. Moments later the cameras show Cooper walking up to Freuler before putting a hand on the player's shoulder and they engage in conversation, with seemingly nothing the matter and they would then go over to the away end together

One Forest fan tweet: "Not sure what it was, but apparently they were seen laughing and cheering afterwards - nothing bad I guess." A second said: "Why were people trying to make something of the Freuler / Cooper situation? Just watch the whole clip instead of watching the first snip."

All is well at Forest, as it should be after a win like that.
