The Remnant 2 Lament door puzzle is one of the RPG’s most challenging, and it doesn’t help that you have to wend your way through a deadly maze of arrow traps. Once you finally make it through alive, you’ll find yourself in a room full of graves and symbols, with a large dial in front of a larger round door. The solution involves figuring out the right code combination to open the door.
There’s a lot of guesswork involved unless you know what you’re doing. This Remnant 2 Lament puzzle guide walks you through each step of the solution.
Remnant 2 Lament puzzle solution
The room with the graves includes several bodies scattered about, each with some kind of symbol marking them. You need to find the bodies whose mark corresponds with a certain symbol. That symbol is in a book, but Remnant 2 decides not only that symbol at random, but the book’s location as well. We found it once down a little walkway near the code circle and near a skeleton a second time.
Wherever it ends up, you won’t have to look far from the door to find it.
The symbol you want is on the first page. You can read the rest of the book if you’re interested in a bit of lore, but the symbol is the only part that’s relevant to the quest.
Keep your symbol in mind, or take a screenshot so you can refer to it later. The next step is finding the four coverings over some of the nearby coffins that match your chosen symbol. Note the symbols, and head back to the ring to enter them. There’s no set order. The door will open after you input all four, and you can head inside to get your reward.
Remnant 2 Lament puzzle reward
Inside the door is a checkpoint where you can recover health and replenish your ammo. Loot the nearby chests for some handy resources, and then at the end of the corridor, you’ll find the real prize: A Blood-Tinged Ring. The quest may be randomized, but as far as we can tell, the reward is the same each time.
The Blood-Tinged Ring restores your health when you stand near bleeding enemies. It’s a bit situational, since you won’t inflict bleed on every enemy you find in the open world, but anything to keep your HP topped up is always welcome.
