On this day 25 years ago, the world watched in horror as news flooded in that Princess Diana had died after a horror car accident in Paris.
Today, we're looking back on her legacy through archive images of the People's Princess on her many visits to Glasgow. In 1983, after just over a year of marriage, Prince Charles and Princess Diana made the trip up north.

By 1987, the People's Princess returned to the city and was welcomed by swarms of locals. Her face made it onto the cover of almost every newspaper in Glasgow, with reporters raving about her impressive attitude.
Visiting the Southern General Hospital, she spoke with patients at the Alcohol Recovery Unit and was praised for her 'sympathetic' tones. By 1990, she was back in the city for the Glasgow Garden Festival.
On each and every visit to Glasgow, the crowds that gathered only continued to grow. Perhaps the biggest crowd that gathered, was after her death in 1997.
