Religious fervour marks Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagaram

Hundreds of devotees participated in Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Vizianagaram on Tuesday (June 20).

The chariot procession was taken out from the historic Santapet Jagannath Swamy temple to the Kanyakaparameswari temple.

The Jagannath Swamy temple was believed to have been constructed about 400 years ago.

Endowments Department Executive Officer A.L. Sudharani offered prayers first to the presiding deities, Jagannath Swamy, Balabhadra and Subhadra.

Members of the Jagannath Seva Samiti, including Kapuganti Prakash, participated in the celebrations.

Vasavi-Vanitha Club leaders P.V.R. Kumari P. Amruta Sri, and K. Padma participated in the service activities.

Members of various women’s organisations performed ‘kolatam’ and other traditional dances on the temple premises.
