An upcoming online auction will allow the public to purchase expensive items from Dublin's five star hotels and other locations.
Irish American billionaire John Malone decided to revamp several of his Irish hotels during the pandemic, including Dublin’s Four Seasons, (now Intercontinental) Westin and Trinity City Hotels, Glenlo Abbey in Galway and Powerscourt Resort and Spa in Wicklow. Many former fixtures of these hotels will be available to buy in an exciting two-day auction.
Mirrors and bar stools from Buck Whaley's nightclub and Larry Murphy's Pub on Baggott Street will also be up for grabs. The auction itself will take place online but its contents are available to view Prussia Street over the coming days.

Antiques dealer Niall Mullen said of the auction: "All of these hotels and bars were refurbished during Covid, when their doors were shut and the contents moved to storage. Already, it promises to be one of the most interesting auctions of the year. Taking on a hotel auction is tricky, but when they all come together like this, they work."
Attractive items on offer include a 40 drawer desk from Harrod's department store. The antique is valued at between €2,000-€4,000 and was purchased from Dublin's oldest shop, now known as House of Read on Parliament Street.
Equally, a bust of crooner Frank Sinatra, a Graham Knuttel oil painting worth at least €5000 and a lifesize hare sculpture will also boost interest in the event. A range of side cabinets and lamps from the Four Seasons Hotel Ballsbridge, a popular haunt of Bruce Springsteen's, will also feature.
The event has been described as a one off brought on largely by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Physical viewings began on the 13 January, while the online auction will commence on the 17 January at 2pm.
