A relative of Sara Sharif’s stepmother has urged her to return to the UK and hand herself into the police.
Ten-year-old Sara was found dead at her home in Woking on August 10.
Since then, police have been trying to locate her father Urfan Sharif, 41, along with his partner Beinash Batool, 29, and his brother Faisal Shahzad Malik, 28.
They travelled with five children aged between one and 13 years old, police said while Mr Sharif made a 999 call shortly after landing in Islamabad which led police to the girl’s body.
Speaking to Sky News, a relative of Ms Batool’s, who asked not to be named, said: “Beinash should come back to the UK.
“I don’t know where she is. But I’m worried about her. I’m worried about her kids.
“She should come back to the UK, go to the police and tell them exactly what happened.”
Ms Batool’s cousin, who is originally from Gujrat in Pakistan, also told the broadcaster Ms Batool was estranged from her parents, having run away to marry Mr Sharif.
The relative told Sky News: “The relationship (with her family) is finished.
“She married secretly, and her father said, ‘She is not my daughter’. She hasn’t spoken to her parents since.”
Speaking to the Sunday Times, Sara’s grandfather Muhammad Sharif, 68, urged his son to hand himself in to police.
Muhammad Sharif said his son had briefly visited the family home in Jhelum earlier this month before he disappeared again. He said his son did not tell him about Sara’s death.
“We want them to present themselves,” he told the Sunday Times.
“We want them to resolve the matter as the privacy of our house is affected due to frequent police raids.”
Last week, a court in Pakistan ruled that relatives of Sara’s father cannot be detained by police for questioning, after two men related to Mr Sharif were questioned for days about his whereabouts, according to reports.
Surrey Police is continuing to appeal for information to help them piece together a picture of Sara’s lifestyle prior to her death.
