History doesn’t like USC quarterback Caleb Williams’ chances to repeat as Heisman Trophy winner in 2023, but the betting odds sure do.
Williams’ +475 odds at Caesars Sportsbook are the best of any player. That despite just one repeat winner in the award’s history and none since Archie Griffin in 1975. Bryce Young had his repeat bid derailed by injuries this season, and now Williams is next in line to attempt the almost impossible.
On the heels of a season where the four finalists for the award were all quarterbacks, Williams’ odds are followed by nothing but more players at his position.
North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye has the second best odds, followed by Florida State’s Jordan Travis, Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. and Oregon’s Bo Nix, all at odds of 10-1 or longer.
The first non-quarterback doesn’t show up until Michigan running back Blake Corum at +3500. Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is a couple spots later at +4500 odds.
