Reghan Tumilty enjoyed a free sunshine break in Magaluf with his team mates after helping Ross County win the RESERVE League five years ago.
So the defender could be excused for looking out his bermuda shorts again if he can help Raith Rovers get their hands on silverware in this Sunday’s SPFL Trust Trophy Final against Queen of the South.
That reserve gong is the highlight of Tumilty’s career so far on a journey that’s taken him from Dingwall to Kirkcaldy via Greenock and Dumbarton.
But after being deprived of the chance to lift this trophy when the covid-delayed 2020 final was finally binned last April, the 25-year-old is hoping to make up for lost opportunity this weekend.
Victory, he reckons, can help boost their promotion push - and his chances of a trip back to the Balearics.
He said: “This is probably the furthest I’ve been in this competition.
"The manager is taking it very seriously and giving 100 per cent because I think at this stage we are needing momentum for the league.
"We've done well in this competition. If we can win it can help us for the last five league games.
"I've not won anything before. Well, a reserve league but that doesn't count professionally.
“That was actually quite impressive but it doesn’t mean anything really. It was the 16/17 season.
“Was it my best moment so far? Well, it was when the chairman sent us to Magaluf for free!
“Hopefully, there’s a trip to Magaluf with something to celebrate at the the end of the league season.”
Rovers are joint holders of the cup after it’s last outing two season ago. That final between Raith and Inverness never got played after the onset of the covid crisis with both sides being declared joint winners last April.
Tumilty said: "I was gutted that we couldn't play that game.
"It's a final and a chance to win a trophy. We were joint winners but no-one got anything for it. I didn't get a medal for it.
"We want to make up for that this season and try and win this.
"We want to keep it (the trophy), put a good performance on and kick on in the league.
"The club put a video up from when they beat Rangers in the final a few years ago. That was a big day and it means a lot to fans, going out, being together and getting a good result.
"That's what we've got to be with the fans too - together."
The Championship side reached the last 16 of the League Cup - after beating Aberdeen - and the Scottish Cup before bowing out to Celtic in both.
Kilmarnock and Inverness have been disposed of en-route to Sunday’s final in Airdrie as well.
And Tumilty said: “I don't think we've had any fear.
"We go to Celtic Park, we don't have any fear and we passed the ball well, albeit the result wasn't great.
"The performance we put on against Celtic, the top club in Scotland, was brilliant and we take confidence from that.
"We watch it all the time. The manager here loves video analysis so we watch that 30 passes or whatever it was we did over and over!
"We know we can do it so we have confidence and we should be confident against Queen of the South.
"I think in a cup final it's just about getting a win.
"We obviously want to play good football but recently, against Arbroath especially, we've had to battle.
"We've had a depleted squad and we've had to back each other, so that's what we need to do on Sunday and I think we can do it."
