A former Premier League referee delivered his verdict on Hearts' penalty shout against Rangers yesterday.
Dermot Gallagher believes that John Beaton was in a poor position to make a proper call on the matter, as he insisted the referee couldn't see the incident.
However, speaking on Sky Sports' Ref Watch, he admitted that this was not one for VAR to step in.
With the score poised at 1-1 at Tynecastle in the Scottish Premiership encounter, Clinton Nsiala appeared to bundle James Wilson to the deck inside the area.
Philippe Clement's side would win the game 3-1 later in the second half.
TV footage showed what looked like a push from the Gers defender, who escaped any form of punishment over the incident.
On-field official Beaton waved play on, while VAR opted not to intervene after checking the flashpoint.
Gallagher said: "The referee, if you see his starting position, we can't see him in the picture because he's way behind after being caught on the break.

"Whether he thinks it's a foul or not, we can't tell because the player is between.
"There is a little push there. Is there enough to give a penalty?
"We can see the referee coming into the picture there. He's got what I can a 'down the barrel view'.
"He can't see that. It goes to VAR and they will say 'Well, it doesn't meet the threshold'.
"Yeah (it's in the category of re-refereeing the game). Which we don't want."
