Patrick Reed says it was the sweetest of moments in a sour round.
Reed's hole-in-one at Adelaide's raucous Watering Hole ensures he enters LIV Golf folklore.
The American hit the sweetest of eight irons to trigger wild celebrations at The Grange's party hole just 15 minutes into Friday's first round.
"I just started the party really early for everybody," Reed said.
"Right when I hit it, I knew it was going to be really good.
"Did I know it was going to go in? No."
But the 34-year-old's feat on his second hole, and with just the sixth tee shot from the 12th on the day, was followed by a constant struggle as he posted a three-over 75.
"Besides that one hole, it was ugly," Reed said.
"But it was awesome to give the fans some excitement ... and get them going early.
"The crazy thing was the adrenaline afterwards.
"I was shaking going back to the tee and just couldn't kind of calm down and settle into the round after that point.
"It's one of those things that you don't really expect."
Reed failed to feel any of the drinks thrown by the crowd after his sixth career ace.
"I couldn't feel anything at that point, I was just pumped up with adrenaline when that thing went in," he said.
"I saw cups and beers and liquid flying everywhere.
"I guarantee you, my golf bag looked a little sticky when I was walking off the golf course.
"That's what we kind of expected. If somebody makes a hole-in-one on a hole like that, you expect just craziness and chaos - and it was."
