Reece Rodger: Police find body during search for missing Scottish dad as family informed

Police searching for missing Fife dad Reece Rodger have confirmed that a body has been found on the north shore of Loch Rannoch.

The 28-year-old was last seen over two months ago on March 18 after he and his friends visited the site near Pitlochry on a camping trip. Officers confirmed that on Saturday morning, a body was discovered in their search.

They say formal identification is yet to take place, but the family has been made aware. They said: "Around 10.45 am on Saturday, 27 May 2023, the body of a man was discovered on the north shore of Loch Rannoch.

"Although the deceased has yet to be formally identified, the family of Fife man Reece Rodger (28), who was last seen on the north shore of Loch Rannoch on Saturday, 18 March 2023, has been made aware.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."

On the night Reece was last seen, his friends thought he had gone to bed, but were confused the next day when there was no sign of him. Police Scotland said its efforts had been "extensive and rigorous", but the force suspended its own searches for Reece after dog units, divers and air support failed to produce any new leads.

In the weeks after his disappearance, Reece's partner Paula Airzee issued multiple heartfelt plea's for members of the public to come forward with information so she can give their children, aged four and one, answers.

Speaking previously to the Record, she said: "If not for me, for our precious, innocent, sensitive, little boys who don’t want anything other than their daddy. Please help our innocent little boys get the answers they deserve."

She added: "Our lives have changed forever and all I want are answers to help us bring Reece home to allow us to have as normal a life as possible. We are broken."
