Chelsea defender Reece James has sent a defiant message after it was confirmed he had suffered a fresh injury setback ahead of the clash with Norwich on Thursday night.
James made his long-awaited return to the pitch from the bench against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final - his first appearance since the end of December - and made his first start against Burnley on Saturday.
The 22-year-old put in a sparkling second-half display, scoring the crucial opening goal and providing an assist in the 4-0 victory.
But on Wednesday afternoon, Thomas Tuchel confirmed that James has suffered another setback and was not involved in training ahead of the trip to Carrow Road.
"Everybody was on the training pitch today except for Ben Chilwell and Reece James, who has some muscular problems after his three games," Tuchel reported.
"He has muscular problems in his other leg, not the previously injured leg, but he will still need some further assessment.
"He felt it during the match and it didn't get any better. Today there will be further examinations. It's obvious what he can give to our team, so it is not good news at the moment."
Losing James for any further period of time will no doubt be a huge concern for Tuchel and Chelsea fans, given the impact he has had on the club this season.
In 17 Premier League games he scored five goals and provided six assists, becoming the club's second-most productive attacking player in the process, behind only Mason Mount.
On Wednesday evening he took to Instagram to share his thoughts with supporters.
Writing on his story, James said: "Patience is key. Everything happens for a reason. See you soon. RJ."
