Reece James returns with a point to prove against Liverpool as Harry Kane gives Chelsea a boost

The Carabao Cup Final is amongst us, and Chelsea will be reinviting some familiar faces back into the squad, just in the nick of time. Thank goodness.

Reece James looks fit and ready to go. Though he may not find himself in the starting lineup, his presence on the bench will be more than enough to give Chelsea an extra boost when needed. I highly doubt the Englishman would want to miss out on yet another opportunity to show out as one of the best right-backs in the world, especially when it'll be up against another contender.

The best right-back debate between Trent Alexander Arnold and Reece James is set to start cooking again, and I'm here for it.

The first half of the season saw fans across the Premier League debate on the best full-back in the league. Names such as Joao Cancelo, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Reece James were leading the conversation. With bias, Chelsea fans know exactly who they would choose. James’ career is just beginning, and it will only continue to get better. As far as potential goes, there’s no telling who is already at their peak and who still has a higher ceiling to reach.

For fans, it may not be clear-cut who the best full-back is, but Harry Kane gives us a hint of who he’d prefer if he’d have to choose. Giving us his Premier League five aside team via Amazon Sport, the England captain includes Reece James ahead of Cancelo and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

I think England’s third-highest goalscorer of all time might be on to something here.

Chelsea’s Carabao cup final will prove so much more to fans than it seems. As a fan brands team, it would be criminal not to highlight the debates that could be put to a dormant rest for the remainder of the season. If either Chelsea or Liverpool takes the trophy home, it’ll decide who is the best of a bunch of comparisons.

Firstly, it’ll settle the James vs Alexander-Arnold debate for some time. It will definitely creep back up, but bragging rights will belong to the winner.

Saying this, it will also settle the comparison between both Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel. It may also start up a battle between defences. Who holds the better defence, Liverpool or Chelsea? There are many unanswered questions that could be answered or bought up once this clash is over, and I cannot wait to be right in the middle of it all.
