Reece James has insisted he does not notice the differences between touchline reactions from former Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel and current boss Graham Potter.
Potter has recently been called up on being too calm on the touchline which is a stark contrast to his predecessor Tuchel, who was a largely animated figure on the sideline. The Chelsea head coach, though, gave a passionate answer when a reporter brought this up.
When asked what makes him angry, Potter replied: "Apart from these questions! I am careful not to get into discussion through the media.

"Of course, I get angry, I'm a human being like you, it's just I choose to conduct myself in the way I think is the right way to conduct myself on the sideline. I think the same media are talking about me being angrier but then running stories about problems with referees at grassroots level. They don't see the connection. That's not to say we don't all lose our temper; we do because it's an emotional thing.
"I have a responsibility to myself, to Chelsea, to the game, and to act in a way that is the right thing for me. If you think that you can start a coaching career in the ninth tier of English football – the Northern Counties Division One – and get to this point, Chelsea and the Champions League, without sometimes getting angry or being nice, then I would suggest you don't know anything about anything."
However, despite it coming across as somewhat of a criticism of Potter, it's not something that bothers James. The Chelsea right-back has insisted the players do not notice such things because they are too focused on what is happening on the pitch.
"[It] doesn't make too much difference," James said on the Kelly & Wrighty Show. "You're in the zone, you listen but don't pay too much attention to their gestures. You're focused."
James was then asked about Potter and how it is working with him. The 23-year-old appreciates just how difficult the role Potter is in and praised the head coach's transparency with the players since his arrival in September.
"He's a great manager to work under, a very good person," James explained. "That helps a lot.
"The relationship, how well you get on with the players is a big part. He laid his cards out early when he arrived, that helped a lot. Even in the spell we're in, the transparency is always there. We always know our targets and end goal."
