Chelsea marked their return to Premier League action against Bournemouth by racing into a two-goal lead after 24 minutes. Kai Havertz and Mason Mount were both on target for the Blues as Graham Potter's side edge closer to ending their four-game losing streak from before the World Cup started.
Havertz slid home a delightful Raheem Sterling cross after 16 minutes with Mount finishing expertly from the edge of the box eight minutes later. Bournemouth have threatened but the Blues have been clinical with their chances and have given themselves a significant advantage. Here is how Twitter reacted.
@_CameronSmith10 - Brilliant finish from Mount. 2-0 Chelsea. Deserved a goal as well, Mount has been brilliant so far. Looks really sharp as one of the No.8s with Zakaria tonight. Has kept attacks alive really well when it’s looked like they’re going to end. The start of some rediscovered form?
@MattHirsch08 - That World Cup break really came at the right time for Chelsea. They’re looking strong.
@iam_nicholasafo - That assist from Havertz though
@devonlyfans - Chelsea is dominating the UCL and PL with inform Havertz and Mount
@Don_Osunde - Chelsea fans need to start respecting Mason Mount some more, the last Chelsea player to be this consistent was Eden Hazard. Mount has always played for the badge and delivered.
