Manchester United fans are holding the same hope after Jadon Sancho deleted his social media posts.
The MEN understands Sancho has decided to take a break from social media, with sources close to the player insisting there is nothing more behind the actions and that he is focused on trying to improve his fortunes on the pitch after a tough start to the campaign and losing his starting spot under Erik ten Hag.
Sancho missed the last two Premier League fixtures before the World Cup through illness but his form before that had not been at its best. The 22-year-old currently has just three goals to his name in all competitions and has not scored in the top flight since September 1.

This drop-off in form led to Sancho being left at home for the World Cup in Qatar with Gareth Southgate opting to select Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Harry Kane, James Maddison, Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka, Raheem Sterling and Callum Wilson as his forward options. Away from the international stage, Sancho also has concerns at Old Trafford.
In his absence, Alejandro Garnacho has taken his opportunity with both hands and made headlines, momentarily, last weekend following his stoppage-time winner against Fulham. Despite Sancho's unusual decision to delete his Instagram content, United fans remain hopeful that the winger is just refocusing ahead of the campaign restarting post-World Cup.
Here is what some supporters who spotted the change had to say on Twitter.
