Reddit temporarily banned a page for potentially "inciting violence" against employees at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) after Elon Musk accused Redditors of breaking the law.

Musk reshared an X post from @reddit_lies in which Reddit users shared the six DOGE software developers' identities and stated what should be done to them in a "WhitePeopleTwitter" subreddit.

Some of the comments were as innocuous as joking about shaving their heads while others threatened to drag their bodies.

"They have broken the law," Musk wrote, though it's unclear which law he was referring to. The group was temporarily banned shortly thereafter.

The Reddit comments came after it was revealed Musk's DOGE had access to the Treasury Department's system, which controls more than $6 trillion in payment distributions for social security benefits, Medicare, federal salaries and more to millions of Americans.

David A. Lebryk, who Trump tapped to serve as the acting Secretary of the Treasury, abruptly retired after a standoff with Musk for access to the social security payment system.
