Kylie Minogue has been announced among the special guests taking part in Red Nose Day as it returns this spring.
The live fundraising event, which is set to air on BBC1 on March 17, features an array of stars in its line-up including Minogue, 54, as money is raised to help vulnerable people across the UK.
Co-presenters AJ Odudu and Joel Dommett will lead the night of comedy and exclusive programming, as light is shed on those struggling with issues of homelessness, poverty and mental health amid the cost-of-living crisis.
During the event, Minogue will feature in a one-off special of the BBC comedy show Ghosts, in a suspectedly spooky segment.
The All the Lovers singer will be joined on Comic Relief night by Lenny Henry, Amanda Holden, Frankie Bridge, DJ Greg James, stand-up comic Sindhu Vee and comedian Miranda Hart.
In effort to raise charitable funds, Gethin Jones will be participating in a 24-hour dance challenge, beginning on March 16, from the Morning Live studio.
A parody of Love Island will also air during the televised event, featuring an “unexpected” contestant on the search for love.
The new red nose associated with Comic Relief was revealed have had its “most dramatic makeover” in a video posted on Wednesday morning.
Shared on Comic Relief’s Twitter page, the clip features comedian Diane Morgan as she introduces the design.
Created by Sir Jony Ive, ex-chief design officer at Apple, the model showcases a ridged-effect throughout its sphere, and is comprised entirely of plant-based materials.
Comic Relief was co-founded by Sir Lenny Henry and Richard Curtis back in 1985.
Speaking on the impact of the fundraiser, Curtis, 66, said it has led the British public to show “an enormous confirmation of the goodwill”.
He added: “I always believe that if you open a door, an easy door for people to do the right thing, then millions of people pour through it.”
Sir Lenny, 64, said: “Doing Red Nose Day right now, when times are truly difficult, makes me think — this is exactly why we set it up.
“Comic Relief has been built on the urgent need to help people in crisis and right now donations are needed more than ever. Seeing families, friends, kids, teachers and colleagues come together to help raise this incredible amount of money is remarkable.
“To still donate despite the challenging time we are in, shows the kindness of our country.”
