Red Hot Chili Peppers star Flea has welcomed his third child at the age of 60.
The bassist - whose real name is Michael Balzary - has welcomed a child with his 42-year-old fashion designer wife, Melody Ehsani.
Reports in America have confirmed the happy couple welcomed their child at the beginning of the week with their bundle of joy arriving on Monday 12 December.
While Flea himself confirmed the happy news to E! News on Thursday night as he hit the red carpet - while enjoying the buzz of becoming a dad again.
Attending a red carpet event for Babylon red carpet event in LA - where the latest film starring Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie was being celebrated - Flea explained he was "very happy" to be a dad again.
He added: I haven't been doing a lot of sleeping, but I've been doing a lot of floating on a cloud of love.”
Meanwhile, People magazine quoted him stating last week ahead of the new arrival: "I love being a dad, and I can't even believe that I'm about to have another baby."
He added”: I’m just excited about laying down at night with a little baby on my chest and smelling its little breath and feeling its soft little feet."
His new baby is the third as he shares daughter Clara, 34, with ex-wife Loesha Zeviar, and 17-year-old daughter Sunny Bebop with model ex-fiancée Frankie Rayder.
Flea’s wife Melody had teased fans about her pregnancy when she broke the news to followers with a playful Instagram post back in June.
She wrote at the time: "I've put on a couple pounds.”
While the designer is yet to comment on her new arrival, celebrities had flocked to her post when she made her announcement.
Actress Debi Mazar wrote: “Omg!! How beautiful you are!! Congratulations.”
While musician Janelle Monae wrote: “Ongooodnessss congrats b e a u t y. Love you. Love y'all. What a joy!"
This week, Flea hinted he was thrilled to be a dad again when he took to Twitter with a cryptic post.
In the early minutes of Tuesday, he tweeted: “I am overwhelmed with love and joy.”
The message made no other comment or reference - leading some fans to question if he had been tweeting in relation to the World Cup.
However, some fans at the time speculated he was announcing the arrival of his latest child, with one fan asking: “Is your baby born? A lot of congratulations and love to you and Melody!”
