The Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced that their gig in Glasgow tonight has been postponed, with the rock band "deeply disappointed" not to be able to perform.
They had been due to perform at Bellahouston Park this evening as part of their ongoing global tour, though fans have now heard that the gig won't go ahead as planned.
A statement issued by the Red Hot Chili Peppers (RHCP) this morning announced that "due to illness" they will not be able to perform their show in Glasgow tonight.
They said it's hoped the event can be rescheduled, with the band - fronted by Anthony Kiedis, 59 - adding that they're "deeply disappointed" to not perform this evening.
The Grammy Award winning band said in the statement on their social media accounts: "Due to illness RHCP will not be able to perform in Glasgow tonight July 1st."
They further commented about the situation: "We are working on ways to reschedule this show. Please hold onto your tickets and wait for an update soon."
"RHCP love Scotland and are deeply disappointed not to be able to perform the show. Thank you for your patience and understanding," the band concluded the statement.
The news comes just hours before they had been due to take to the stage at Bellahouston Park, with doors having been expected to open for attendees from 4.30pm today.
The post prompted an outpouring of well-wishes from their followers on social media, with other fans expressing disappointed over the update about the show.
The band - which consists of lead vocalist Kiedis, bass player Michael Balzary, 59, drummer Chad Smith, 60, and guitarist John Frusciante, 52 - are on a global stadium tour.

They had performed in London, Manchester and Dublin last month, and are due to visit venues in countries including Belgium, Germany and France in the coming days.
The tour setlist is understood to include songs from various albums released by the band, including their most recent - Unlimited Love - which had been released earlier this year.
The studio album - which is the band's twelve to date, since being formed in 1983 - topped the charts in numerous countries upon release including the US, the UK and Ireland.
