Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare got an official PC release date where they will be getting new hardware features and enhancements.
The games will be coming to PC players on Oct. 29, 2024, and brings John Marston's beloved journey to a brand new platform. It brings the game in stunning, new detail and with improved visuals.
Red Dead Redemption on PC
The release comes in collaboration with Double Eleven and the new version introduces some important PC-specific enhancements.
These include native 4K resolution at up to 144 hz on compatible hardware. It also has monitor support for both Ultrawide (21:9) and Super Ultrawide (32:9).
Other new features are HDR10 support as well as full keyboard and mouse functionality. The PC version also gets support for NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0 upscaling technologies. It also receives a lot of other improvements, according to Rockstar Games.
The announcement also came alongside a new trailer that showcased what fans could expect with the PC version of the game.
Rockstar Games also said that it would be sharing more information later this week on how to pre-purchase the two titles at various online stores.
Players will reportedly have access to control of the draw distance and shadow quality settings with the new PC version. Undead Nightmare is a zombie horror companion story that will also be included in the PC release.
Brand New Features
Rockstar Games also shared the minimum specs requirements for the game. These are a GTX 960 or a Radeon R7 360.
On the other hand, the recommended specs include RTX 2070 or Radeon RX 5700 XT, Video Cardz said. Both minimum and recommended specs also mentioned 8 GB RAM memory.
While the release is something that fans are looking forward to, it is not the full-fledged remake powered by the Red Dead Redemption 2 engine. This particular installment was playable using emulators for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.
There is still a chance that modders will work on modernizing the game's visuals in several ways, including texture packs. They could also bring character model tweaks to the various ray-traced ReShade mods that are already available.
So far, Rockstar Games has not shared any pricing details for the PC version of Red Dead Redemption. However, some fans argue that a reference point can be made for consoles, which has a price tag of $49.99, according to WCCFTech.
