Red Bull run fan-designed livery for United States Grand Prix after over 100,000 entries

Max Verstappen will bid for his 15th race victory of the Formula One season at the United States Grand Prix this weekend in a special livery designed by a Red Bull fan.

Argentinian Franco Cavallone was selected from nearly 100,000 entries to create a one-off livery at the upcoming race in Austin.

It is the second time Red Bull Racing have run their Make Your Mark campaign, having done so at the Miami Grand Prix where Cavallone, a 39-year-old graphic designer, was in the stands and was inspired to come up with his own creation.

His design for the F1 race at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas, is heavily influenced by the Lone Star Flag of Texas.

As a reward, he is being flown to the race weekend to see his livery in action.

Red Bull will run the competition, open to members of its free loyalty programme The Paddock, once more this season for the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Following the latest contest, Red Bull team principal Christian Horner said: “It’s really exciting to see this unique, fan-led competition come to life and coincide with the growth of Formula 1 in the US.

“Our hunger for winning continues for the remainder of the season, so hopefully this livery will be as winning as Martina’s in Miami, which saw Max and Checo finish on the top two steps of the podium.”
