Red Arrows seen in skies around Nottinghamshire

The Red Arrows were spotted in the sky around Nottinghamshire on their way to a major event. The pilots, who are one of the world's finest aerobatic teams, were seen by witnesses passing over Shipley Country Park on the border in Derbyshire on July 28.

The Royal Air Force (RAF) division fly over parts of Nottinghamshire on Thursday, July 28, on their way to the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Pictures from eyewitnesses show the Red Arrows flying in a V-shaped formation to their destination.

Based at nearby RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire residents occasionally get a glimpse of the team overhead. Flying Hawk fast-jets, the team made a few stops before arriving at their final destination in Birmingham for the games, including a flypast at Canwick Lincoln at 7.45pm.
