Red Arrows flypast route for Falmouth Week - where and when to see them today

The spectacular Red Arrows will take to the sky over Falmouth Bay today.

Following their flypast for Commonwealth Games opening ceremony, the aerobatic display team of the Royal Air Force will delight sailors and landlubbers as part of Falmouth Week.

Running from August 4 to 13 this year, Falmouth Week dates back at least as far as 1837 with its origins in a local sailing regatta.

It has evolved into not only a major sailing competition in the South West, but also a major attraction in the seaside town in Cornwall, offering many activities and evening entertainment for locals and visitors.

The Red Arrows are due to arrive at 6pm on Wednesday (August 10) to put on a stunning display of breath-taking stunts and synchronised manoeuvres across the Falmouth sky, which is expected to last around 20 minutes.

Today's Falmouth Week entertainment also includes an RNLI fun day, free Action Sports Tour displays and taster sessions, Bryher's Boys and Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club.

Based in Lincolnshire, the Red Arrows will fly their Hawk fast jets across the country from RAF Scampton to Exeter this afternoon, a few hours before the display in Falmouth.

A scheduled Falmouth Week display was cancelled last year after the team had arrived in Exeter, due to poor weather conditions.
