While it has been a productive recruiting season so far, Ohio State is still on the hunt for impact players on the defensive line. One of the players Larry Johnson is keeping close tabs on is five-star edge rusher Matayo Uiagelelei.
There hasn’t been much talk about where Uiagelelei will land as the family has kept everything pretty close to the vest regarding a destination. We told you a while ago that dad, Big Dave, had high praise for Ryan Day and the Buckeye program.
Now, at least one recruiting expert thinks OSU has the inside track to land the Bellflower, California native. On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has USC in the lead, but On3 Director of Recruiting, Chad Simmons thinks otherwise saying he believes Ohio State is the team to beat.

Uiagalelei would be a huge prize for the Buckeyes considering they have only one current verbal commitment at the defensive line position in three-star Will Smith. Only time will tell if Simmons’ intuition is correct or if the blue-chip prospect will choose to stay closer to home.
