Man mowed down in attempted murder outside Aldi in Newton Mearns

An attempted murder probe is underway after a pedestrian was mowed down by a car in East Renfrewshire.

The 35-year-old man was hit while walking near the Aldi store on Pollokshaws Road, Newton Mearns, on Tuesday afternoon.

Police are treating the incident as attempted murder and are hunting the driver who mounted the pavement before fleeing the scene.

Coked-up thug glassed football fan's face for 'no reason' after shaking his hand

A football fan was glassed in the face for 'no reason' by a coked up thug who scarred him for life.

Damien Hacket t was on a night out with three friends dancing on a podium when he was approached by Calvin Elliott, 27, who reached up and initially shook his hand.

Shocking CCTV footage showed Elliott then grab Mr Hackett's ankle or foot before jabbing a glass up into his face.

Furious Ally McCoist has slammed the individual who filmed and verbally abused Neil Lennon as a "disgrace".

A video has widely circulated online of the former Celtic manager that is believed to have been filmed yesterday.

A man filming can be heard shouting: "See you Neil, you ginger c***", the direction of Lennon.
