Notre Dame played in Dublin in 2012 and will bring loyal support from Indiana.
The game is estimated to bring some €147m into the country and Minister for Tourism Catherine Martin has hailed the move.
She said: "The demand for tickets for the 2023 Aer Lingus College Football Classic proves that Ireland is the home of College Football outside of the United States. This year’s event in Dublin will see the largest movement of Americans into Europe in peace time with the game set to provide a huge boost to the Irish economy and hospitality sector.”
The match will kick off at 7.30 pm Irish time and be broadcast on NBC in the United States and is estimated to be viewed by over 4m while Sky Sports will also show the game.
