Reclusive Bridget Fonda rules out return to acting two decades after retirement

Bridget Fonda has ruled out a return to acting following her retirement two decades ago, instead admitting she now enjoys being out of the spotlight too much.

The former actor, 59, appeared in a number of high-profile films during her career including The Godfather Part III (1990), Single White Female (1992) and Jackie Brown (1997).

She however retired from acting in the early 2000s and has been described as 'reclusive' in recent years, with her said to have been seen for the first time in a decade last year.

Bridget - who is the daughter of late actor Peter Fonda - has now dismissed the idea of reviving her acting career and suggested that no film director could change her mind.

She was asked about her career whilst out in Los Angeles on Monday (April 17), as reported by the Daily Mail. Bridget was seen wearing a striped T-shirt and black pants.

Asked if she wanted to make a move back into Hollywood, she responded: "No". She further commented when questioned: "I don't think so. It's too nice being a civilian".

Bridget was then asked whether there's any director who could potentially change her mind, though she suggested otherwise. She replied to the question: "No".

It has been more than two decades since Bridget's last acting role, which was in Snow Queen (2002). It was one of several projects in early 2000s prior to her retirement.

Over the course of her career, Bridget was nominated for major awards and appeared in films like The Godfather Part III, in which she played journalist Grace Hamilton.

She starred in the lead role of Allison Jones in psychological thriller Single White Female and was later cast as the character Melanie Ralston in crime film Jackie Brown.

Her other credits include roles in horror sequel Army of Darkness (1992), animated film Balto (1995) and action film Kiss of the Dragon (2001), which was one of her last projects.

Bridget - whose family includes her aunt Jane Fonda, 85 - married film composer Danny Elfman, now 69, back in 2003 and the couple later welcomed their son Oliver, now 17.

Her husband has worked on films like Batman (1989), with his more recent credits including Netflix 's Wednesday and Marvel film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
