Rebel Wilson has officially tied the knot with her fiancé Ramona Agruma after throwing a top-secret wedding in Italy.
They got hitched on September 28 in an intimate yet lavish ceremony in Sardinia, Italy. Although the Aussie actor had previously told reporters that she’d love to get married in Australia, Sardinia holds a special significance for the couple. It’s where the cute pair announced their love to the world when they hard launched their relationship in June 2022.
Rebel had also hinted that the couple didn’t plan on getting married until 2025 after being absolutely swamped with work and parenting commitments.
“We’re just too busy with [their daughter] Royce and everything going on. I’m directing a movie later this year in Australia as well,” she told Scary Mommy in February this year.
“So we think it’ll happen next year and we’re looking at some venues and trying to decide. We’ll have people flying in and it’s a big decision as to where to have it, how big it’s gonna be, how expensive it’s gonna be — all those things.”
She’d also mentioned to PEOPLE that while she wanted a big ol’ wedding, Ramona wanted a smaller ceremony.
Rebel met Ramona — who is the founder of an apparel brand named Lemon Limon — through mutual friends in 2021. They spent weeks getting to know each other by chatting on the phone before they made things official.
“That was a really good way to get to know each other,” Rebel told PEOPLE.
“It was a bit old-school in that sense — very romantic.”
A few months later, Rebel came out as queer while hard launching her relationship with Ramona. While it was a happy moment, it was clouded by the threat of an Aussie journalist outing her publicly when he caught wind that she was dating a woman.
Instead of having her love life written about, Rebel took control of the narrative by posting a selfie of the couple and captioned it: “I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince… but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess 💗🌈💗#loveislove.”
In 2022, the pair welcomed their first child Royce Lillian into the world via surrogate. They got engaged at Disneyland in 2023 whilst wearing matching jumpers.
In June 2024, Rebel admitted that still hadn’t met Agruma’s parents, who don’t approve of their same-sex relationship.
“Ramona was born in Latvia, and it’s not as LGBTQ+-friendly as other countries are,” she said.
“I just think some people need a bit more time — and some people won’t ever come around to it, and that’s fine, and that’s their decision.”
