Rebekah Vardy has admitted her agent could have leaked stories about Coleen Rooney's private life.
In a dramatic turn of events, "devastated" Vardy has accepted it "is possible" that Caroline Watt could have been behind the leaks, which sparked the ongoing Wagatha Christie High Court drama.
In a new witness statement submitted to the court, Vardy admitted that she has to “accept that it is possible that she may have had some form of involvement that I don’t know about.”
But she was adamant that Watt continued to deny to her being behind any leaks from Coleen’s Instagram account, writes the Mirror.
Vardy admitted: “The idea that my close friend and confidante would betray me in this way seems unbelievable to me and almost impossible to accept.”
In the new two page statement, she says: “I have thought about this very carefully. I find it very hard to accept that Caroline would deceive me in this way. I do not know what to think.
“I do not know what role Caroline played in relation to those articles which appear to have come from Coleen’s private Instagram account but I have to accept that it is possible that she may have had some form of involvement that I don’t know about.
"I still find it hard to believe given all her denials and her support to me during the case, but I can’t understand why the journalists would indicate otherwise.
“I know nothing of this and I certainly did not authorise or condone her to leak information from Coleen’s private instagram to the Sun.
"I am devastated by all this. Not only have I been libelled by Coleen but I have had to face allegations that my close friend has been involved with this, and she is in such a fragile state that I can’t even address it with her properly."
The WAGS have been at war since 2019 when 36-year-old Coleen accused Rebekah, 40, of leaking "false stories" about her personal life to the media.
Coleen carried out an investigation for months to find the culprit, and alleges she found out who was responsible by limiting who could see her Instagram stories.
Mum-of-four Coleen was dubbed 'Wagatha Christie' when she publicly claimed Rebekah - married to Jamie Vardy - was sharing the clips.
However Rebekah vehemently denies the accusations and she is suing Coleen for libel. The case has been running since 2020.
The full trial is expected to take place next month.
