Rebekah Vardy slams rival Coleen Rooney for wanting to 'weaponise an army' against her

Rebekah Vardy has launched a scathing attack on her Wagatha Christie rival Coleen Rooney, claiming it felt like the 36-year old 'wanted to weaponise an army' against her throughout their High Court libel case.

The mother-of-five remains adamant Justice Karen Steyn came to the wrong conclusion following the lengthy proceedings that saw her found guilty of leaking Coleen's news to the press.

The decision marked an end to the two-and-a-half year feud, which started in 2019 when Coleen said she had carried out a "sting operation" and accused Rebekah's account of leaking "false stories" about her private life in a now viral Instagram post.

Despite her rant Rebekah says she holds no grudges (@TalkTV)

The fake stories Rooney planted on her Instagram during the sting operation featured her travelling to Mexico for a "gender selection" procedure, her planning to return to TV, and the basement flooding at her home.

Now, the 40-year-old has opened up in an interview with the Sun where she labelled the whole row as "totally ridiculous", but one where she will "hold no grudges".

Wife of Leicester City footballer Jamie, Rebekah said: "If the shoe were on the other foot I would never do that to someone. If that was really what I thought I would be round their house having a conversation with someone and dealing with it the right way.

"To me it just seemed like it was, she wanted to weaponise an army against me and that is what it felt like.

"But life is too short to be resentful and hold grudges and be bitter towards someone. That is not me. I am not that person."

She added that her only regret from the case is that her legal team "didn’t have a judge who understood the case".

Rebekah remains adamant she is innocent, meanwhile, and says she would take Coleen to court all over again because "she didn't do it".

"I will say that 'til I'm blue in the face. I did not do it!" she told journalist Kate McCann.

She added: "I feel let down by a lot of people, a lot of things. But most importantly I feel let down by the legal system."

Rebekah's latest account follows hot on the heels of Wednesday's instalment of the interview, where she claimed she had "never felt so bullied and manipulated and shamed" in her entire life.

She added that she was "sl*t shamed" and claimed she was shamed for things she had "done 20 years ago or more".
