Rebekah Vardy has signed a deal to take part in a documentary on the infamous 'Wagatha Christie' saga, according to reports. The wife of Premier League footballer Jamie Vardy forked out hundreds of thousands of pounds on the court battle with Coleen Rooney, which she ultimately lost.
The documentary is set to air on streaming service Discovery+ in the coming months, according to The Sun, as she faces high legal bills over the case. A source told the paper that Rebekah has received numerous offers to tell all since the case and has always wanted her voice to be heard.
A source told The Sun: "Becky has been inundated with offers ever since the trial ended. She has made no secret she believes she has been hard done by and is keen for her voice to be heard.

"“Right now she is facing the prospect of a hefty legal bill and sees this documentary as a way to recoup some of the costs. Obviously her fee won’t be anything like the cost of her lawyers but it will help."
The paper also reports that the two are once again bickering despite Coleen, wife of former England captain and Manchester United star Wayne Rooney, winning the libel case. It says Rebekah is not happy at all about the costs doubling to £1.5 million.
Vardy expressed her thoughts shortly after the trial in a TV interview with TalkTV’s Kate McCann, admitting she regrets the dispute went as far as it did but reaffirming that she still believes she is innocent. She said she was “disappointed” with the outcome of the trial, adding: “I didn’t expect it to go that way but I think we had a judge that didn’t understand the case and didn’t look at everything.
"It feels like the judge just read what was written in the media and took on their narrative bias."
The case came to court after a social media post went viral in October 2019 in which Rooney said she had carried out a months-long “sting operation” accusing Vardy of leaking “false stories” about her private life to the press. Rooney publicly claimed Vardy’s account was the source behind three stories in The Sun newspaper featuring fake details she had posted on her private Instagram stories.
Vardy denied leaking stories to the media and sued her fellow footballer’s wife for libel, while Rooney defended the claim on the basis that her post was “substantially true”. Following the case, Rooney welcomed her victory saying she “never believed it should have gone to court” and that “it was not a case I ever sought or wanted”.
Streaming service Disney+ confirmed last month it is creating a documentary series with Coleen Rooney surrounding the legal battle. It was announced during the Edinburgh TV Festival it has “exclusive access” to Rooney and the trial to develop the three-part series with a working title of Wagatha Christie.
The series will take viewers back to the first social media post that initiated the story, all the way through to the High Court case, and will feature interviews with family, friends and key players involved in the trial.
