Rebekah Vardy has hinted that she was set up in the Wagatha Christie drama after losing the sensational trial earlier this year.
Rebekah, 40 - wife of Leicester and former England star Jamie Vardy - took Coleen, 36, to court for libel but lost the multi-million pound trial, which the latter was reported to have tried to settle out of court before it was sent to a judge.
Coleen won the blockbuster case after a nearly three-year battle with Rebekah. The trial was centred around the now-famous Wagatha Christie post, which Coleen shared on her social media accusing Rebekah's Instagram account of leaking stories about her to the press.
Following the verdict of the case, streaming companies have been vying for Rebekah and Coleen's version of events on camera with both signing huge deals to do so.
In August, Coleen signed a 'multi-million pound' three part TV series with Disney+ which will tell her side of the Wagatha Christie investigation and court case. It will also look at how Coleen has been in the public spotlight for two decades, having begun dating footballer husband Wayne when they were teenagers.
However, Rebekah will put her views into the public domain in her new documentary series with Discovery+, Vardy vs Rooney: The Wagatha Trial, which will air on Saturday.
In the upcoming documentary, as reported by the Daily Mail, Rebekah questions: "I wonder, how easy would it be to potentially set someone up in a way that makes it look like that is the only person that has seen those [leaked Instagram] posts?"
The long-running saga between the two WAGs started in October 2019 when Coleen said she had carried out a "sting operation" and accused Rebekah's account of leaking "false stories" about her private life to the press.
Coleen planted fake stories on her Instagram during the sting operation which featured her travelling to Mexico for a "gender selection" procedure, her planning to return to TV, and the basement flooding at her home.
In her verdict, following the trial, judge Mrs Justice Steyn said the court found that Rebekah, together with her agent Caroline Watt "was party to the disclosure to The Sun of the Marriage, Birthday, Halloween, Pyjamas, Car Crash, Gender Selection, Babysitting and Flooded Basement Posts."
She went on: "The Court considered it likely that Ms Watt undertook the direct act, in relation to each post, of passing the information to a journalist at The Sun, but found that the Claimant knew of, condoned and was actively engaged in this process."
A friend of Coleen told the Mail: "The court ruling was absolutely clear about the facts of this case and also about the nature of the evidence Mrs Vardy gave."
In the upcoming documentary, Rebekah also says that stories about Coleen and her family are still being leaked to the press, staking her claim that she is innocent.
She continued: "The first time I read about the flooded basement was in the Daily Mail online. I love how I get blamed for that one, incredible.
"If I had been selling stories, where are the messages saying 'give this to The Sun'? 'Make sure I get paid for this'. Where are they? There aren't any – because they don't exist."
It is believed the total costs of the case will be in the region of £3million, with Rebekah having to foot the bill for most of the legal costs.
Coleen's reps declined to comment when approached by the Mirror.
